Terms of Service

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By installing or using the App you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use it and uninstall it.

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required by the law of your country — in the European Economic Area this can be as high as 16. If you are a minor, you need permission from your parent or guardian.

2. The service

The App is a submarine arcade game for Android with four modes — Descent, Circuit, Salvage and Duel — that share a single trench generated fresh every day.

It is free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscription and nothing to pay at any point.

Descent, Circuit and Salvage play in full offline. Leaderboards, other pilots' echoes, seasons and duels require an Internet connection.

3. Your account

The first time you open the App, an anonymous account is created, tied to an identifier generated by your own device. No sign-up and no personal details are required.

You may link a Google account to keep your progress when you change phone. It is optional.

• One person, one account. Do not create multiple accounts to manipulate the leaderboards.
• You are responsible for what is done from your device and your account.
• If you uninstall without having linked Google, your progress is lost: the anonymous account is left orphaned and there is no way to recover it.

4. Nickname and content

Your nickname is public: every player sees it on the leaderboards and in duels. You can change it whenever you like in settings.

A nickname must not:

• insult, harass, or incite hatred on the basis of origin, sex, religion, orientation, identity or disability;
• be obscene, or refer to illegal activity;
• impersonate another person, the developer or an organisation;
• include other people's personal data, advertising or links.

A nickname that breaks the above may be reset to an automatic one without prior notice. Think before using your real name: it is public.

5. Fair play and verification

Leaderboards are only worth something if the runs are genuine. That is why the serverre-simulates runs from the recorded inputs and works out the score itself: it does not trust the number the phone sends.

The following is not allowed:

• modifying the App, decompiling it or altering the simulation;
• using bots, macros, tampered emulators, speed hacks or any automation that plays for you;
• calling the API outside the App, forging runs or replaying requests to inflate rewards;
• interfering with the service or attempting to access other people's accounts;
• arranging duel outcomes or manipulating matchmaking.

Runs that fail verification are discarded without notice. If you find a flaw that lets someone get around this, tell aduardoyanes@gmail.com instead of exploiting it — it is genuinely appreciated.

6. Salt, cosmetics and aids

Salt is the in-game currency and it is earned by playing. In the workshop it buys two things: cosmetics (hull colour, lamp beam colour) and single-diveaids.

Aids sell information, not power: gate sonar, spire detector, module beacon. They never touch the simulation, which is why a run made with aids is verified exactly like one without them. You cannot buy an edge here.

Salt and everything bought with it are a limited licence to use them inside the App. They are not your property, they have no monetary value, they cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and they are not refundable. If you delete your account or the service ends, they are lost.

7. Advertising

The App shows no advertising today. If it were ever added, it would be announced beforehand in the Privacy Policy, and it would remain a game with nothing you are required to pay.

8. Availability and changes

The App is offered “as is”, with no promise of continuous availability. Online services may be interrupted by maintenance, incidents or causes beyond our control. When the server does not respond, the App says so and the three single-player modes keep working.

The game may change: modes, balance, salt prices, weekly modifiers or the trench generation itself. Seasons reset by design when they close; that is not a fault.

The online service may be suspended or discontinued. Should that happen permanently, reasonable advance notice will be attempted inside the App.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account from settings, with the effect described in thedeletion section of the policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms — cheating, nickname abuse, leaderboard manipulation or interference with the service. Any such measure will aim to be proportionate, and you can always appeal by writing toaduardoyanes@gmail.com.

10. Intellectual property

The App, its code, its design, its generated art, its music and its name belong to Adrian Duardo and are protected by intellectual property law. You are granted apersonal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the App on your devices, and nothing more.

Your runs and replays remain yours, but by submitting them you allow them to be shown on the leaderboards and replayed as an “echo” to other players, which is what Circuit mode consists of.

Android, Google Play and Google are trademarks of Google LLC. This App is not sponsored, endorsed by or associated with Google LLC.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or freedom from error. It is not guaranteed to run without interruption or to be free of defects.

None of the above limits the mandatory statutory guarantees you may have as a consumer, in particular within the European Union.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, there is no liability for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, nor for loss of progress, salt or in-game data.

Total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of these two amounts: what you have paid for the App (which is zero) or EUR 50.

These limits do not apply in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor to damages for death or personal injury, nor to anything the law does not allow to be excluded.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the developer is established, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country in which you reside: if you live in the European Union, you keep the protection granted to you by the law of your habitual residence.

The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform for consumers resident in the EU.

14. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with its date. If a change is material, notice will be given inside the App. Continuing to use the App after a change means accepting it; if you do not accept it, uninstall the App and delete your account.
